In this excerpt from a 2020 Easter Service and Meditation, SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda discusses the profound importance that Paramahansa Yogananda placed on the quote from St. John, “As many as received him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God.”
Paramahansa Yogananda taught that we should distinguish between Jesus the man and universal consciousness in all creation (Christ Consciousness) that was manifest in Jesus; and that it was this Christ Consciousness of which St. John spoke as being received by seekers of higher consciousness of past and present. Paramahansa Yogananda explained that it is indeed possible — and the goal — for us to realize within ourselves that infinite consciousness, as did Jesus.
As Brother Chidananda states in this video, Paramahansa Yogananda brought to the world the meditation techniques, and plan of life, by which we can realize our unity with the Divine within ourselves and all creation.
